Zeppelin flight
The world from a bird’s-eye view
Would you like to view the world from a relaxed position high above -
from a box seat in the sky? Then you should book a flight on the
Zeppelin NT, the biggest airship in the world.
Airship aviation is still the most pleasant and relaxed way of flying
through the air. Alone the takeoff of a zeppelin cannot be compared to
that of a plane. While the effort a plane has to make to lift off is
clearly noticeable, a zeppelin floats up with the greatest of ease,
quietly and comfortably. At a height of around 300 - 500 metres you
enjoy the marvellous panoramic view over city and countryside.
You are 'flying', mind you: manoeuvrable airships, which Count Zeppelin
invented and for which he applied for a patent in 1895 as a 'steerable
aircraft with several supporting structures arranged behind one
another', must not be confused with blimps, which you are familiar with
as colourful advertising vehicles or hot-air balloons - these aircraft
only 'run'.
On board you travel luxuriously and in style: the twelve passengers sit
in soft leather chairs - all of them window seats, of course - and view
the landscape through enormous panoramic windows. After reaching flight
altitude, they can move around freely in the spacious cabin, look over
the pilot's shoulder or enjoy the spectacular view through the curved
plexiglass windows of the rear observation deck.
At the same time the eight-ton airship quietly follows its course
across the sky at a cruising speed of around 70 km/h, which it can
increase to about 130 km/h thanks to state-of-the-art technology whose
fly-by-wire control can match that of an Airbus. The nicest thing is
the truly heavenly peace. No roaring burner as in a hot-air balloon or
rotor noise as in a helicopter disturbs the enjoyment of the flight. A
zeppelin is not even as loud as a car because the power units are not
mounted directly onto the passenger gondola, but on the side and at the
rear of the supporting structure.
Flights with the airship generally take place between March and
October. The zeppelin is stationed in Friedrichshafen and flies
circuits from there over the marvellous countryside around Lake
Constance. On request the zeppelin also comes to your city,
incorporated into your company or product image, to the delight of your
event guests and as an attention-getting attraction for young and old.
Group bookings with different programme schedules according to prior arrangement, maximum of 12 persons per flight.
