Aviator's camp – romance and flight experience
An unusual introduction to the world of aviation: in a romantic setting you gain your own practical experience with flight equipment and weather conditions and even hold the control stick in your hand high above the clouds!
After the welcoming aperitif at 'Eichenhof' in Worpswede you are taken to the idyllic location of the Karlshöfen airfield for pleasure aircraft. There you get to know the facilities and trainers and take an initial performance test immediately after the briefings on safety regulations and the basics of aerodynamics. At dinner in the hotel restaurant 'Artisst' the test results are announced and after that an evening full of atmosphere awaits you in the world-famous artists' colony of Worpswede.
The next morning begins with instruction in the fields of aircraft science and meteorology. Soon the aircraft glide over the apron in low-pass flight. But before you personally go up into the air, you need a lesson in the theory and practice of power plants. After lunch at the aviator barracks you climb into the cockpit and perform taxi exercises on the apron. And then you take off on your first flight: your flight instructor familiarizes you with the geographic orientation aids and you independently practice flying straight ahead and curves.
On the airfield another practical test follows: you taxi across the apron and park the aircraft at the marked position. After the successful manoeuvre you spend the evening at a cosy barbeque party at the airfield; in a romantic atmosphere of aviator camaraderie you take in the experiences and impressions of the day.
Your big flight day begins the next morning. In Karlshöfen airplanes and instructors are standing by. First you repeat the lessons practised the previous day before flying your first touch & go manoeuvre in aerodrome traffic circuits under guidance. When you are not flying, a trainer instructs you in navigation and radio communication. After lunch you take off on a distance flight and finally land with your flight instructor at the Bremen Airport. In the old tower there you enjoy the panoramic view of flight traffic over coffee and cake.
In the late afternoon you are back at your home airport in Karlshöfen and receive your pilot's certificate there. After dinner you think back to the impressions from the aviator camp at a lively party and the next morning you set off on your homeward journey.
Group bookings from 12 persons and up.
In addition, a spectacular stunt flight of the legendary T6 Texan with Captain Walter Eichhorn can be arranged; it is possible to fly with him on request.
