90 Seconds to Go!

You are sitting relaxed in your seat on the plane and enjoying the quiet flight. In fact, everything is the same as always - and then it happens: suddenly there is a drop in pressure in the cabin, smoke and fire in front of the windows over the left wing, the oxygen masks drop down … but no panic. You are at the training centre of Lufthansa Flight Training in Frankfurt and experience at close quarters how pilots and cabin attendants prepare for such an emergency.

Under the guidance of professional trainers you complete an exciting three-hour event programme. First your expert guide explains to you the most important facts about the training phases and the most modern emergency training centre in the world in a short briefing. Then you are prepared for the programme in a multimedia presentation. A 'Safety First' video shows you the procedures and rules of conduct in the simulator.

In the gigantic cabin simulator the serious business starts: aborting takeoff, landing on the water or on unpaved surfaces, emergency opening of doors and windows, setting up the emergency slide - the aircraft crews must be completely familiar with all these procedures. The proper conduct in emergency situations is played through in the cabin simulator under realistic conditions and in perfect simulation.

Experienced instructors also provide you with support when it is necessary to combat solid and liquid fires with the same extinguishing agents that are found on board passenger aircraft. You train application of the various fire extinguish techniques at Europe's most modern fire extinguishing facility, which offers all possible methods for combating fire in aircraft.

You are familiar with the presentation of the safety instructions by the cabin attendants prior to a flight: the rules of conduct in the case of an emergency, putting on and activating the life vest, handling the oxygen mask and so on. At the hands-on station you will find all emergency equipment used on board passenger aircraft. And it's not called hands-on for nothing: from the oxygen mask to the original life vest, you will try on and test all elements of the emergency on-board equipment. In addition, comprehensive information is provided by the experts. The hands-on training marks the end of an extraordinary and exciting event.

Group bookings with different programme schedules according to prior arrangement, optimal for approx. 16 to 20 persons.

The programme can be combined excellently with other aviation-related event modules, such as simulator flight experience, catering in LFTC's Service Trainer or airport VIP programme.
