Are there any restrictions for accessing the Full Flight Simulator?

You should be older than 16 years and in good normal health. An airworthiness certificate is not required, this is only needed by professional pilots who normally train on the simulators.

Do I need prior knowledge
for the simulator flight?

Not necessary. In the multimedia briefing we will give you a sound basis to start, fly and land successfully in the full flight simulator. But of course it won't hurt if you are already a little familiar with your selected aircraft.

How do I decide about
the right aircraft type?

First, perhaps, by location: Choose between simulators in Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich, Vienna and Zurich.
Then maybe by type of control, depending upon whether you prefer to hold a classic control wheel in both hands as in the Boeing B737, or rather to steer a big Airbus with small movements of a side stick.
And of course by size: The giant A380 surely is a different way to fly than a turbo-prop aircraft like the Dash 8.

How do I arrange
my flight simulator date?

After your flight booking or receipt of the gift voucher, you get in touch with your ProFlight team, by telephone on 0421 24133-20 or with an eMail, and inform us about your desired flight date.
ProFlight experience flights are operated in the free periods when the simulators are not required for airline pilot training. If your preferred date would be occupied by the professionals, we will coordinate an alternative date with you.
Please note: We fly on any day of the week at any time, but according to our experience most free slots will be available on weekends.

Will I notice during the flight experience that in reality I still stay on altitude zero?

That won't be easy: the cockpit is original in every respect from the pilot's seat to the smallest switches and instruments, you see cities, airports, cars and even individual people in front of the windows, and a slight pull at the side stick lifts the nose and presses you in the seat ...
You will have to turn around 180 degrees: Then you see your friendly tutor who stands ready to help you during the flight, and the large display on which you can select your starting and landing airports.

Can I book the flight experience in a Lufthansa Flight Training simulator also with another provider?

Only directly with us and with our selected partners. The ProFlight GmbH is a joint subsidiary of Lufthansa Flight Training and aerospace specialist PRO TOURA and markets the free capacities of the LFT professional flight simulators exclusively.

Can I book a simulator flight experience somewhere else?

There are companies that offer outdated and immovable simulators at lower prices. Before you take in consideration such a flight experience, you should put it on the acid test in our simulator check.

Why does Lufthansa Flight Training spend some 15 million dollars for each full flight simulator?

That's because the airline pilots do need these simulators in order to constantly improve their knowledge and skills and to prepare themselves to situations that you cannot try with a real airplane: engine failure, fire on board, extreme weather conditions ...
And because Lufthansa needs them to ensure in regular checks that their pilots are always ready to cope with any problem during the flight.

What do I do to allow my friends to share my unique cockpit experience?

Well, at least you can show them the flight certificate, with your picture that shows you in the pilot seat. And perhaps you can explain your flight log, the computer recording of your landing approaches.
